John Marsden is head of Innvotec, who were appointed
fund managers for the Advantage Technology Fund.
John Marsden joined Electra Innvotec in 1990.
After taking a degree in commerce and qualifying
as a chartered accountant, he spent several years
as a finance director in industry until 1984 when he
joined a company doctoring practice which specialised
in helping venture-backed companies. Two years later he
moved to Baillie Gifford to achieve their objective of
withdrawing from the technology sector. Much of the portfolio
was outside the UK and several successful exits were accomplished.
Once that task was substantially complete, he became a member
of the Innvotec team. He successfully headed the Merseyside
Special Investment Venture Fund. John is now head of the
team managing the Advantage Technology Fund, and joined the
Board in November 2001.
